| The Smallmans and Blazers are both from Grand Rapids Michigan and are sent by Northland Baptist Church. They are both members of the West Michigan Missions Consortium as well.
In 1997 the couples began talking about working together and seeking the Lord's leading as to mission agency. They attended Candidate Seminar together in 1998. The Blazers began prefield ministry (deputation) shortly after that and left for the field in July of 2000. Dave Smallman completed his seminary training before beginning prefield ministry in 1999 and left for Brazil in December of 2000. Andrea completed language school several months ago. Dave and Valerie are due to finish up in December and then the focus will be full time on church planting. Planning is already underway and Bible studies are beginning. |
